Apply for informal care appreciation until August 11!
The municipality of Etten-Leur appreciates all informal caregivers who dedicate themselves to Etten-Leur residents. Family caregivers in the Etten-Leur municipality are therefore eligible for a family care appreciation from the Etten-Leur municipality. Surplus arranges these applications. Also this year, the municipality chose a voucher from KoopLokaal of local entrepreneurs.
“Informal care is often not a choice. It happens to you when a loved one needs extra care. At the moments when it is needed, informal caregivers are ready. And that is incredibly valuable. Informal caregivers are of indescribable value. That is why I would like to say a word of thanks to all informal caregivers. We feel this thanks and appreciation throughout the year, but want to express it again through this attention. Because that is what caregivers have earned.” says Alderman René Verwijmeren.
How does it work? The informal care appreciation is for informal caregivers who provide care. The municipality of Etten-Leur has determined when an appreciation can be requested. This depends, among other things, on the number of hours that informal care is given. In addition, it is important that the care is not daily care. Also, the informal care must be on a voluntary basis to someone in need of help on a physical, psychological and/or social level. The informal caregiver cannot be a volunteer from an organization, but provides the informal care from a social relationship. The care recipient depends on the informal caregiver for general day-to-day care. Finally, the informal caregiver must provide informal care for at least three months or longer. Applications can be made until August 11 at the latest. A maximum of two people per caregiver can receive the informal care appreciation.
